Having heard of the notoriety of this place, I wanted to see for myself what it was all about and was it worth all the hype that seems to surround it. My answer - yes. The shop itself is tiny (more than four customers would be a tight squeeze so if you're claustrophobic go out of season or first/last time... More

Paid a visit to this little shop and have to say the gingerbread was probably the best I've tasted also had a cup full of ginger wine and that was very spicy and a bit to sweet for me but nice all the same. Well worth a visit in my opinion.

The shop has a very traditional recipe for gingerbread. It's much more flapjack like than normal gingerbread. I'm not fond of the normal stuff but this was lovely. Wish we'd bought more.

Our friends were showing us around the area and we called into Grasmere. They recommended we try the Gingerbread. It has its own unique taste and the shop in itself is very interesting to visit. Well worth a visit.

We had gingerbread wedding favours and found the service to be second to none- we also received a wedding card which was a lovely touch!! The gingerbread is amazing ( especially warm!) and our families loved it. Can't praise the staff enough as our gingerbread was taken to our hotel free of charge, the cost is more than reasonable and... More

Well worth a 1 and a half hour trip just to buy gingerbread, as you can imagine it never changes so you know you'll always get the same taste every time and that taste is fantastic.
