Knowing we had four nights in Keswick for a winter break, we looked to see what was on at the Theatre by the Lake. We've been here before and it's always worth seeing what's on. Not wanting to sit every evening in the hotel bar after dinner, as pleasant as that is, we bought tickets to see the MGM story.... More

The summer season of eight plays has something for everyone be it comedy thriller or a serious subject. The acting is superb and the sets are inspirational. Do go

Wonderful evening at Keswick theatre but beware the café. Asked for a cappuccino which was not available. Received the smallest cup of coffee which was barely warm and not very strong. Scone was also dry. Friend had tea and cake which was average. Suggest they move with the times and invest in a coffee machine. Disappointing start to our evening... More

I never stay at Keswick without going to this theatre. There is always a good comedy or thriller on the main stage, and the smaller studio productions offer a wide range of interests. Easy to find, easy to park. Delightful.

We pop in for a coffee and cake sometimes and have enjoyed it very much, The new building is very bright and gives great views. Well worth going in if passing by.

While staying a week in the Keswick area last summer we not enjoyed the beauty that surrounds the area by hiking but also got to enjoy a marvelous production of "Watch It Sailor" at the Theatre by the Lake. The show was hilarious and we so enjoyed being a part of the audience. The staff were very helpful when we... More

We drove to the theatre on Saturday 15th Jan. Arriving at 5:30pm so we could get dinner in Keswick prior to our 7:00pm show we parked in the large car park adjacent to the theatre. It was £3 to park however they have the most ridiculous regulation that daytime parking ends at 7:00pm - so if you are staying later... More

I hope the good citizens of Keswick and the surrounding area realise just how lucky they are in having this wonderful theatre with all of its talented staff on their doorstep. I say this because on the evening we attended, there were large gaps in the audience. This may, of course, been due to the time of the year (... More

We stopped off for a coffee whilst visiting Keswick. Lovely atmosphere, great coffee & tea and although we didn't eat there the food looked great 👍🏻

We have visited the Theatre a few times and I think this is one of the best productions I have seen. An adaptation of the Hans Christian Anderson magical fairy tale, the story isn't as well known as some so I did wonder if the younger children would understand but the production was amazing and had all children spell bound...
