Absolutely beautiful to drive past, particularly in the snow. Some fabulous snaps taken here. The whole area is stunning

Keswick and Derwentwater are good places to get out into the fresh air. All sorts walks are possible in the area. Reasonable bus service ifyou don't want to drive.

Took a walk along there after worshiping at lake road chape in Keswick on Easter Sunday Morning With the sun shining it was a very pleasant experience before returning to Lake Road Chapel for Evening Service

We spent the day walking the trails around Derwent Water, visiting the villages on its shores and stopping several times for tea or lunch. The walk was moderately easy and afforded many beautiful sights.

This is a beautiful body of water in the northern lakes, nestled next to the town of Keswick, it is a centre of outdoor activities and definitely should be included on any visit to the area

This is one of the most beautiful lakes around. You can walk round the lake on a relatively flat walk, or stroll from the theatre to a lookout point over the lake. You can also feed the ducks and go on a boat trip. I...More

Our hotel is near Derwent Water. In the evening, many people came here for a picnic, some even swam in the water. We love the peace and tranquillity of this lake.

Highly recommended for people to visit. Great views, beautiful countryside. Once again disappointed with the outrageous parking and toilet entry fees being charged. Visitor's are certainly being ripped. Be prepared to have lots of pound and silver coins to hand.

We took the boat across the lake to walk the circumference. A flat walk to warm up our legs for the rest of the holiday. Views of catbells and the valley with place to stop for ice cream or a drink a long the way....More

Great walk with lots of places to stop for a beer or cream tea and the views are spectacular. And if you get tired there is a regular boat service to get you back to where you started.

The route I suggested would be impossible with a buggy as you scramble up some rocks on the ascent. You could go up the steps where we descended and come back the same way however I think it would be tough going! You might... More
