This is a famous viewpoint with exceptional views of the Skiddaw range and Derwentwater. The road to it is very narrow and great fun when you meet other cars!!!

Crossing a shallow Rocky stream and surrounded by mountains, Ashness bridge is a fabulous place in which to encounter everything that is best about England's Lake District. And it is accessible by car.

We walked from Great Wood national trust car park to ashness bridge, the walk was absolutely stunning and overlooked Derwentwater. The bridge was very cute and picturesque.

If you stop off here expect to see cameras being used to capture an iconic lakeland scene. There are many pictures online that show you what you can expect; a charming bridge, a lovely fast flowing stream and a few tourists. A fine viewpoint over...More

Ashness Bridge is possibly the most painted and photographed of all the tourist spots in Lakeland and for that reason it's worth a visit.
