Traffic-heavy main road travelling though Windermere into Bowness and the lake. Lots of shops and restaurants and very pleasant, but the paths are quite narrow and the volume of traffic and tourists (on foot and in cars) makes it a bit tricky to negotiate. Even...More

A good selection of independent shops and some chains, particularly focusing on walking. There are also plenty of places to eat, both restaurants, cafes and teashops. The road then leads down to the lake and the wonderful views. Worth spending some time

Lovely town and high street but the sheer amount of traffic is horrendous considering how small the streets are which is an awful shame 😥

There is a small double parade of shops in Windermere itself. The shops are varied yet covers most needs, with several banks, cafe's and supermarkets. A quaint Lakeland town. The Lake itself (namesake) is 1 1/4 miles away, located in Bowness-on-Windermere.

Parking in or around the actual street is never easy. Better to drive through the town to the Lakeside where there are a couple of bigger car parks and walk back.

Yes there is a Trespass shop on lake road in Windermere and I am sure there are several other outdoors supplies shops in the area as there are so many activities carried out in the areas
