Blackpool's North Pier is fortunately still the most traditional example at the resort. It is quieter and the walk to the facilities at the seaward end is very pleasant. The views north to the Lake District on a nice day are particularly appealing. The current...More

I walked down to the end of this pier and felt ashamed that it has been left to deteriorate as it has. The architecture on this pier is fantastic. You can imagine our ancestors walking up & down it. Now it's mostly closed but beautiful....More

My favourite walk in Blackpool is down this pier of memories. It must be a struggle to organise and pay for the upkeep of this treasure, which is the longest of the three in the resort. Yet it is now a free attraction, made so...More

All the piers are good for a walk & to people watch. They are windy though as they go out to sea a good long way.

Pier is in the middle of a renovation/restoration, the bar at the end of the pier has a large open roofed area which is completely sheltered from the wind

Is the old penny arcade back (at the beginning of the pier, opposite the fortune teller)? We found it by surprise a few years ago in 2012 and loved it despite some of the machines not working but for the past few years, it's not been there.
