A very nice building, and some nicely put together recreations. The star is the beam engine with its amazing Victorian columns and pillars and the quality of the restoration work which must have gone into it. A nice setting and so close to the National Space centre.

Very interesting venue, giving an insight to the water industry. The Beam Engines are magnificent and beautifully restored and displayed. The use of water through the ages is well illustrated. Combine this visit with the Nation Space Centre ( Next Door ) and a great day out will be enjoyed.

This is an interesting place to visit at any time, but even better on event days when the steam engines are running. It tells the tale of its past and a lot of other things too. They have old buses, a steam roller etc. Children like it too so it's not just for grown ups. They especially like taking the... More

OK, there's more to it than that, but there is an impressive array of toilets through the ages, and a working model of a sewer. The kids will love this. Bright, airy, welcoming and right next to the Space Centre, so can be added on as a bonus.

I was expecting a grand Victorian extragant spectacular pumping station as can be found not too far away in Nottinghamshire. What we got instead was a strange mixture od the history of various parts of Leicestershire life over the past century,. inculding the origin and use of the pumping station.......(and a stuffed Polar Bear, for some unexplained reason). Some of... More

Unless you're an enthusiast, you may want to give this place a miss. Probably better to invest a bit of money and visit the National Space Centre across the road. I only came here because I had 30mins free before the 'We Are Stars' show in the NSC.

Stumbled across the Pumping Station after a visit to the Space Centre, which is situated next door. The place is a great find, full of interesting artefacts and is very child friendly. The museum is free entry and is well worth a visit. Would recommend.

After leaving the space centre feeling very deflated with our visited we noticed the pumping station and decided to give it a go. It was fabulous!! Lots of interesting things to press and watch and whilst small we had a lovely 30 mins here. There is a toilet which you can flush and watch the 'poo' travel down the pipes... More
