Spent an interesting couple of hours in here and recommend it to anyone interested in art galleries and museums. Varied things to see and also a well stocked museum shop with good ideas for gifts. A nice cafe down below for a sit down, coffee and to recharge the batteries. A very good experience overall.

We went to the children's hour with my little girl. I was surprised how child friendly the art gallery was and how much she enjoyed it. She particularly liked preraphelite art and Jackson pollock!

Popped in on a rainy Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed the modern art exhibition. Top UK painters - an excellent display.

Interesting (slightly maze like) gallery, with a diverse selection of exhibits. MUCH more interesting, with far better exhibits than the Tate.

I was enthralled with the exhibits and spent an afternoon in quiet contemplation of all on offer. Perfect for the art lover.

This is a very interesting art gallery with paintings in chronological order. It also has some beautiful sculpture. We were limited in time, but we like to get the best from our visits. We took the audio guide (reduced price £3.50 for 2, or £1.95 each) which covered 25 exhibits. The guide was particularly good as it described some of... More

I quite liked the traditional paintings here. Some colleagues complained about the cluttering of the paintings, but I didn't mind that at all. I went through the modern paintings quite quickly, although I noticed some nice examples there too.

I've been to Liverpool loads of times, but it was only this year that I went to the Walker Gallery for the first time. There was so much to see that I went back the next day to finish it. The collection covers all periods of painting, all conveniently compartmented into different rooms. The atmosphere is quiet and unhurried, the... More

I love this gallery and am pleased to see how it has adapted to the times by doing the bare minimum. It has always had some superb art in it's collection and it continues to show it to it's best effect. There is also a great section dedicated to contemporary collections and education.
