It's a shame that such a lovely park in hidden unless you know the area. Beautiful scenery for a nice walk but not a lot for kids. Worth a look still.

This is the remains of the old Festival Gardens of 1984. It is still relatively well maintained but alas, nature is reclaiming a good part of the gardens. Still its in decent nick and I believe there are a lot of voluntary helpers. I cant...More

It was a sunny day when we went to the gardens. We visited the promenade, the playground and had a very relaxing and pleasant walk around. Lovely place. Will certainly come back often.

The Festival Gardens are the last remaining part of the 1984 International Garden Festival site. The structural elements of the original garden still exist, but the formal landscape is slowly being reclaimed by nature and becoming a wild place! We really enjoyed exploring this green...More

They have finally restored this once horticultural extravaganza to a degree of respectability. A pleasant place to walk, enjoy river views and for the kids to play.

While nowhere near as good as the original festival gardens , this park has saved and restored some of the original features to good effect. Has a stroll around today, there are wild bits as well as more manicured bits, plus a small play park....More

We have come here several times with our dogs and its a really nice walk in good weather. Would highly recommend visiting.
