Amazing and very informative. We were taken on a two hour guided tour by our wonderful host angie. From the moment we set off from aldgate east station(exit 4) angie simpley and brilliantly in her victorian dress took us back in time. We visited places in the heart of whitechapel that were part of the ripper murders and heard about... More

Our tour guide Philip Hutchinson was dramatic, funny and encyclopedically knowledgeable about all things Ripper. For 2 hours, we were alternately intrigued and appalled by his 'on-this-spot' accounts of the Ripper's crimes, although some locations were either beyond reasonable walking distance for our tour's duration or long since demolished. We unreservedly recommend Philip.

We visited London for my birthday and i decided as i am so interested in the Jack the Ripper case to book this tour around the East End and at only £10 per person I thought why not. I was pleasantly surprised by the tour guides enthusiasm and knowledge on the subject, i cant remember his name but he was... More

John Bennett our tour guide was exceptional. A fantastic factual and interesting tour full of information I had not known before. John was a brilliant guide with a vast amount of knowledge and clearly very passionate about history.

Went tonight (26th March), Barry our guide was very informative and you could tell that he was interested in the Jack the Ripper story. Took time to answer peoples questions and made the whole experience extremely enjoyable. At the end of the walk/tour pointed us all in the right direction for our various stations/routes home. Will do this again in... More

Quite simply - spectacular! Philip Hutchinson brought Jack the Ripper to life - offering fabulous insight into the murky East End world that was Victorian London. This is a 'must do" for everyone in London be you a local or tourist.

First and foremost, we booked this cuz we thought it was the other jack the ripper tour led by the beefeaters, and we were initially disappointed when i found out that we paid for the wrong one. Now with that being said, we went on this tour and I'm so glad we did! The narrater was great, passionate and expressive,... More

This tour is something my wife and myself had been meaning to do for some years. Our guide John was very knowledgeable and brought the whole story to life. For £10 we spent an enjoyable 2 hours walking the streets of Whitechapel learning of the lives of those that lived there. It was obvious from the outset that there are... More

As many other reviewers already stated, the tours live on the energy and ability of the guide to re-create a city and it's atmosphere long gone. And despite the typical London maze as background, they do it so well, it is like listening to an audio book, immersing in your imagination.

Our guide Angie, was awesome. She knew all the history, all the information, and truly enjoyed doing the tours. Highly recommend this tour, very informative of all the victims, complete with some pretty graphic photographs, and very good knowledge of the area. The tour lasted almost 2 hours, so if there is one drawback, it's a long time to be... More

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighbourhood Profile
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
