Located across the street from the better known Angel Pub in Rotherhithe, it was built in the early 14th century and the remains are just ruins. But it is a very interesting story. It was built by Edward III as a manor house and at the time was on an island. It was also outside the city of London. It was Edward III’s largest home outside Windsor Castle, but is still unknown exactly why it was built. It is only a 10 minute walk from Rotherhithe Station and a block away from the Brunel Museum. There are also two historical pubs close by – Angel Pub and Mayflower Pub.

Ruins of King Edwards riverside manor house date back to the 14th century. Isn't much left to see, but is a good stop on an interesting riverside walk down to Rotherhithe and near the Angel pub with a terrace looking over the Thames.
