All aboard the ‘orrible omnibus for a ride around the dark side of London. The Ghost Bus Tours’ classic Routemaster has been redesigned to give passengers London’s first ‘Fright Bus’ service. On-board actors and technical trickery combine to create the scariest tour in town. A creepy conductor provides the commentary for this sinister sightseeing show, revealing haunted places, unmarked burial grounds and the skeletons in the capital’s cupboard.

This was a fun bus tour we took our first night in London. The guide was enjoyable, and well-informed. On the drive around London you hear some bits of history, peppered with ghost stories. You are told of a death that happened (or may not have happened) on the very bus you are riding. What happens next is a good... More

My partner and I both went on the Ghost Bus Tours of London on a cold Friday evening in February this being our first visit. The Conductor and actors were very good throughout the tour, such a great way to see London by night and be entertained as you go along. The conductor was so knowledgeable as we went along,... More

This tour was so much fun! I have to admit my friend and I didn't have high expectations, but this tour went above and beyond. Our guides played fantastically off each other and their comedic timing was perfect. The haunted sites were cool but the guys were definitely the best part

This was such a fun night! Imagine some gory history paired with bus theater--funny and informative. We were entertained the whole trip and saw more somber things like the mass burial of thousands of prostitutes, beheadings, and public executions but the actors also kept it light and entertaining. We enjoyed it so much.

After all the hype and excitement, we were left disappointed by the poor experience of the ghost tour It took us around some sites where murders took place and other historical facts but what really let it down was the screaming and banging by a member of the team pretending to be either a ghost or member of the crew,... Hi Shamir786, We're very sorry about your poor experience, but there must have been a miscommunication along the way somewhere as your initial email to us included a screenshot of an £8.46 charge, and that you enjoyed the tour! I do believe we also invited to you back for a complimentary ticket of your choice; we're sorry you're not giving... More

Wow this was a great trip on an old London double Decker bus. Painted black, with curtains, lamps and upholstered seats. You have to book for this trip. we had the 2 for 1 vouchers from our rail ticket. you can't book on their web site with these, it has to be done in person at the bus stop. We... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighbourhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
