Probably the funniest show I have seen. I never realised it was a comedy and expecting the Hitchcock version of the story. Within 5 mins I could see where this film was going. Only has 4 members in the cast. But it was very funny and would see it for a third time.

Brilliant play cast did a fantastic job keeping the essence of the book with dad jokes and Hitchcok references. Suitable for ages 14 and up we saw it in Theatre Royal Glasgow which is a stunning modenrised theatre in a city centre location.

This performance was charming and witty. The handful of talented actors, comically switched into different characters at pace, keeping the audience at the edge of their seats with laughter and awe of what would follow.

I have to admit, I didn't know this was a book or a movie, but I had so much fun watching it. If you go to the ticket counter at 5-6pm, you can get tickets for as low as £10. Every time I go to London I watch this play, it's that entertaining!

I loved the book, I loved the film and I loved this stage version - absolutely fantastic! It's impossible not to love the way the small cast change from character to character and tell the story of time and distance so creatively. The adaptation is fantastic - I was captivated all the way through. A brilliant piece of theatre you... More

We went to see the show, then we sent our parents, and then we took our children. Yes, it's THAT good.

Funny and innovative I loved every moment of this production. At no time did I ever get bored and the hospitality staff were all friendly. If you fail to enjoy this production then you probably need a personality transplant.

Criterion Theatre is nothing very great except for the location in Picadelli Circus. The flights you have to take by the stairs are not so enjoyable as you take your seat. But as the show starts you will forget all the ordeal. Just four actors in the entire show will take you to a journey of laughter and enjoyment. Despite... More

I came to the 39 steps companionless, I was travelling to London on business. I looked over the nightly shows and found out this comedy, which I knew little about but the price was good and I managed to find good spots to buy on the street with fair price. The criterion theatre is a very humble hall, tapestry a... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
