I have reviewed the Royal Opera House before. However we have not been for about 2 years and we went last night to see Manon( Jonathan Kent's production of which received a veritable pounding in both the Telegraph and theTimes) Despite being a little put off by the awful reviews, we had a fantastic night. The Theatre is magnificent and beautiful.... More

Read that title again. How much better does life get then that. The building was beautiful, the staff helpful and food excellent. My only complaint is they sell ice cream at intermission, but don't allow you to take it to your seat.

Fabulous ballet, wonderful food in the restaurant, great service. An expensive night but worth it - you only have a birthday once a year!

Went to see a show in the amazing auditorium and ate at the restaurant. Yes the food is slightly on the pricey side but is stunningly presented and simply to die for. Great Chardonnay as well. Very attentive and helpful waiting staff. Worth a visit if you are going to see a show.

Here on this occasion to see a dance production. I've visited before just to look around the building and to have a coffee and chat with friends. To see a performance here & to take in the beauty of the venue is a true privilege. We were seated in the amphi theatre and it could have been signed more clearly.... More

We have eaten at the The Balconies restaurant twice and it certainly makes an evening at the ballet or opera extra special. You need to book and choose your food ahead of time as it is served prior to the performance with desert and coffee in the intervals. A three course meal for 2 with a bottle of wine costs... More

We were part of the guided tour of the Royal Opera House. What a tour!I will always carry the feeling that we couldn't attend a programme.Tony was our guide. There was never a dull moment. He answered our queries most patiently. We had our lunch at the Verdi,an Italian restaurant downstairs.Pizza&garlic bread.Just superb. There was a quartet playing there, too.Altogether,an enjoyable morning.
