Highgate Cemetery is a beautiful place, steeped in Victorian history and well worth a visit. I enjoy the peace and tranquillity of a cemetery and this one does not disappoint. I booked our tickets online for the West Cemetery tour, which also gives access to the East Cemetery. You can just visit the East (entrance fee applicable) but I strongly... More

I love graveyards-I can often be seen wandering round them and I had always wanted to come here and I was nto disappointed. We opted for the guided tour which was £12.00 per person and included access to the East side too (usually £4) . You can;t see the West side without a guided tour and its well worth it.... More

Had a great tour of Highgate Cemetery, our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. The tour was £12 but well worth it as it goes to the upkeep of the cemetery. Interesting stories of the tombs and people in them. Well worth a visit

My first time here this afternoon - we visited the Highgate Cemetery East which charges GBP 4/- per adult. Perfect weather for walking around the Cemetery - the focal point of our visit was obviously to visit the final resting place for Karl Marx. A beautifully maintained cemetery which also has the remains of several other prominent individuals. Highgate Cemetery... More

This old graveyard in north London is the burial place of many eminent people, of the Victorian era in particular. It is a fascinating place to visit, and taking a map find the graves of many people whom you may have greatly admired.

Visiting a cemetery is not always a high priority tourist attraction, but for people who know London quite well and wanting to explore more unusual aspects of London "life" then taking the Highgate Cemetery tour is certainly worth it. Our guide the West Cemetery was Simon who was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and he clearly demonstrated that as he showed us... More

There is something a little odd about planning to spend a day wandering a cemetery but its been on my list of things to do for such a long time I decided to tick it off!! So glad that I did. What an amazing place to wander and enjoy a trip back to Victorian times and their amazing funerary architecture.... More

Recommended to visit so we did a tour (it's a private cemetery so you can only do guided tour). The West side is the original 1830's cemetery so steeped in history. The 'circle of Lebanon' was recognisable as a recent setting for SS-GB TV series and the catacombs have you stood right next to coffins laid on 'shelves' so could... More
