This gallery has four things which I value highly based on my experiences as a docent in local gallery at home. First, it represents the tastes and interests of one person (or a small group/family) collecting during their lifetime(s). As such, it is interesting to...More

A much appreciated venue that hosts events & workshops as well as exhibitions. We visited the Edward Bawden exhibition and left feeling totally uplifted. There is also a restaurant, shop and gardens that means you can enjoy more than just the gallery. For a full...More

Small and intimate, but just a stunning collection of art. Highly recommend to pop in if you are in the area. Beautiful little Canaletto also hidden away in one of the corners. Loved it.

The exhibitions here are always curated so well. From Tove Jansson to the current Edward Bawden, it's never too busy and you're able to walk around a few times and really take in the art. They always add interactive bits in for kids as well....More

The is a haven for serious art lovers. Set in the Dulwich College estate, the picture gallery houses a world renowned standing exhibition with frequent hosted events. Today we visited the Edward Bowden exhibition which was excellent.

This is the world's oldest purpose-built public art gallery. Thete are so many old masters exhibited here that it is practically an excess of riches: Rembrandt, Canaletto, Poussin, Lely, Veronese, Rubens ... and the list goes on. I also enjoyed the Edward Bawden exhibition. A...More

First, it's worthwhile going there whatever exhibition is on to see the buildings and learn its history and influence on architecture around the world. I loved the Bawden exhibition. I'd never heard of him. I like the touches of humour in his detailed painting. The...More

Edward Bawden’s work is unique both as an artist and a graphic designer. The Dulwich gallery show takes you through his career and development beautifully. As a war artist he drew what he wanted to draw, no one was going to tell him what to...More

This is a world class collection, although you have to like Old Masters as there is none of the contrast you get in other London galleries (so that if you don't like one period, you may like another). We actually went to see an exhibition...More

We found it so interesting that we were two hours in the actual exhibition. That was also partly because we seemed to arrive at the busiest time, around 11.00 a.m.
