Always looked at this but never did the tour.....mistake - the guided tour was likely the best thing we have ever done in London. Learnt so much about the way politics work (and worked). Good value and well organised.

The Parliament is one of the iconic landmarks of the city, and best combined with a visit to Big Ben. Security didn't let me in, unfortunately, and it is unclear to tourists how/when it may be visited. So I stuck to enjoying the architecture from the outside.

Booked this as a part of my first trip to London. What an amazing building! Airport style security to get in, but then what do you expect. I was surprised at how busy it was in November, can only imagine how busy it is during the summer. Definately worth visiting

I've seen the exterior on many previous visits but decided on this occasion to take the tour. Our guide spoke very well and was full of knowledge on this building and parliamentary procedure. It was great getting to walk through the chambers that we see on television so often.

This is with Big Ben very visible London attraction. When you are visiting London banks at the river or going with boat on Thames, you will see this nice building and you will know that you are in London. Also during the night the building is very good lighted with warm lights.

This is our 2nd visit to the Houses of Parliament. I love the history of our country so the opportunity to visit the Seat of our democracy is a privilege as well as a great history lesson. Our guide was a tall retired teacher who delivered an entertaining and interesting history of the Houses of Parliament. We have completed a... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
