Visiting Parliament was a dream come true for this politics nerd who loves watching PMQs on C-SPAN, and the tour did not disappoint. I am a former US Senate and House staffer, and this is one of the things I was most excited about doing in London. My mom and I were lucky enough to be in London while Parliament... More

Beautiful park with lots of nature, like the Central Park in New York if not better! Lots of benches and lounge chairs for sitting, lots of birds, pigeons, flowers and ducks, swans for all to see.

Well worth a visit. For from being a stuffy council office, the buildings in which our Parliament meets is on a par with Stately Homes and castles! I would recommend a guided tour as one can miss a great deal of history or art simply by not realising it is there.

Impressive and historic buildings to admire and walk past. Now heavily guarded by armed policemen and barriers.

My family had an enjoyable tour of the Houses of Parliament in December 2016. We have been to London frequently but never had the opportunity before to do the guided tour. Our guide was wonderful and very informative about both Houses. I enjoyed seeing the differences in the Houses and seeing the legendary statues. Very worthwhile visit.

This area has many attractions and the parliament it self, is a beautiful building. From here, you can easily walk to south bank.

A thoroughly recommendable experience. So much history and magnificence. The Audio Tour was excellent, giving you the opportunity to listen to the basic information but also the option of listening to more detail if you wanted to. We had afternoon tea in the Members dining room, which was lovely, as was the food. My husband thought it was one of... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
