Had a fantastic tour here with fellow students

Had a wonder tour alongside a group of 10 students. Got to listen to the rich history of the Parliament, the traditions and ceremonies by an educated guide. Would recommend.

We paid for a guided tour of the House of Parliament and found it to be well worth the money. Buy your tickets online in advance and walk the halls of history and stand in the very spots where century old and current events took place.

Take the audio guide and you will learn how the parlament chambers work around laws in the U.K. Being here is like living how things are done. You will actually be right where the action takes place. The building is beautiful inside and very interesting. I thought it would be boring somehow but I was totally wrong. Allow 2 full... More

I applied for my tour via my local MP, where you are given a ticket for a scheduled date and time you have to arrive fairly early to get through the security checks. The tour was really interesting even if you don't follow politics and the BBC parliament channels the Palace of Westminster is steeped in so much history. The... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The House of Lords and the House of Common chambers are impressive. Often saw them on TV and when we get to see them in person the feeling is marvelous.

I booked my tickets online well before my visit to London, to be sure not to miss, because it is not open daily for visitors. An easy going tour well explained thru the audio guide. Awesome palace, masterpiece in grandeur, all gilded and mosaic decorated halls, a Royal place rich in history.

We took 46 students from Cornwall on the visit around the Houses of Parliament. Guides are children friendly, encouraging and knowledgeable. Great to see how the MPs debate. Our local MP (Sheryll Murray - SE Cornwall)) was on hand to meet with us again this year, which was a nice touch

Applied for entry via my local MP. Fixed time for entry after security vetting. Became part of small group being shown around by excellent guide. We were taken through all the major areas of interest and were given a very personable and informative explanation of the history and present protocol of all the areas we passed through .I was with... Private tour which was so interesting. Loved all the history involved. Surprising how big the place is as you walk underneath into a subway.

Though seen it from outside but worth seeing it . The surroundings are too good. Beautiful beautiful historical building still attracts everyone by its charm.

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
