A well done and beautiful museum. Small but well presented. Very few artifacts and a small museum shop that is not very comfortable but well worth a visit.

We have recently visited this museum which is free to the public. Very lucky to attend on a day (Friday at 11.00) when there was a guided tour (also free). The tour lasted approximately an hour and a half with a guide who was superb...More

We'd seen the old archway a few times but never visited the museum before. It's well laid-out and has information on the Knights in Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta (which by coincidence we'd just been to) and up to the present-day St John's Ambulance Brigade. Lots...More

This is a wonderful museum in the heart of Clerkenwell. In the 11th century, a hospital was set up in Jerusalem to give assistance to pilgrims. The men and women who staffed this were known as the 'Hospitallers'. With the arrival of the Crusaders in...More

We got married in the Chapter Hall at the Museum on the 7th January 2017. It was the most wonderful ceremony, and the room and building as a whole was exquisite. It is a gem right in the centre of Clerkenwell, and a magical place...More

Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site
of an ancient meat market which remains in operation
today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally
renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and
some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a
focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough
time wondering through the area's maze of streets and
you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky
