St Martin-in-the-Fields is a landmark. Its fine Georgian architecture and prominent location place it at the heart of the nation. Its work has valued historic tradition, but St Martin’s has always been innovative in response to changing needs. From London’s first free lending library to the first religious broadcast, St Martin’s has broken new ground in defining what it means to be a church. Solidifying its position for years to come, St Martin's has an award-winning cafe, puts on concerts with London's best musicians, and hosts fantastic events in its unique subterranean spaces.

Free lunchtime concerts take place every Monday, Tuesday and Friday, a fantastic way to hear both established and emerging stars of the classical scene.

As well as the fantastic food on offer in the Cafe in the Crypt, during the summer months St Martin's opens the Cafe in the Courtyard, offering a host of al fresco delights.

St Martin's is a welcoming haven in the heart of the city. A nice cafe (though the queuing system is a bit inefficient the food is good and the team friendly), a lovely shop, beautiful church and a brass rubbing centre (geekalcious - I love a bit of brass rubbing!) The concerts are good too; some are free and some... More

We both had a lovely evening listening to beautiful music in delightful surroundings. We listened to Mozarts requiem and thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Where else can you listen to such beautiful music for such a low cost.

An iconic attraction in Trafalgar Square, which is an iconic location. Nice place to gaze out over the square and a beautiful church inside. Often busy.

Excellent acoustics and proximity to performers make this church a very good choice for concerts. Of course the church is itself worth seeing but it is a wonderful experience to hear music in this space. Highly recommended.

This church is quite lovely, and has a good spot on the edge of Trafalgar Square. I especially enjoy it due to the free lunchtime concerts every Tuesday and sometimes Friday too! The concerts are held in the church, and feature a variety of classical music. They are usually at 1pm and last an hour. You must be there on... More

If you're looking for an inexpensive way to spend rainy days and have an amazing souvenir, go to the Brass Rubbing Centre downstairs in the crypt. The staff give very good instructions and there are lots of brasses to choose from. This activity was rated as one of our best London experiences and would be perfect for a family!

This is an impressive looking building located right next to Trafalgar square. The exterior with all the Georgian columns is really worth a look. I didn't make it inside as something was going on when I walked past.

Well worth a visit, this church is surprising in how bright and airy it is when you walk in the door. A long time centre for helping the poor and homeless this church continues to be a player in this area. Worth a visit if you are in Trafalgar Square. Recommended.

St Martin-in-the-Fields is a landmark church located on the northeast corner of Trafalgar Square. It has beautiful Georgian architecture. It is open to all, regardless of gender, sexuality, ethnicity or background. They organise concerts and every year over 350 free and ticketed performances are conducted. There is a Café in the Crypt and a Shop  selling gifts, souvenirs, CDs and books. We were informed... More

After attending a matinee performance nearby, we walked to St. Martin-in-the-Fields to have a very good supper in the crypt below the church and then attend a concert in the church itself. The setting was beautiful with candles lit on all window sills, the bases of columns and near the performers. The acoustics are fabulous and the music of Pachelbel... More
