Interesting walk through an old shopping arcade with its own police force. Just a shame I couldn't afford to buy anything

A beautiful archade, which has unfortunately changed a lot over the years with increasing rents, but is still well worth browsing and window shopping, if nothing else.

Walk through history in the Burlington Arcade, off Piccadilly. Glass front boutique shops present a wonderful experience. Unique purchase options make this a real treat from the every day shopping mall.

famous for the quality of brands on sale, Burlington gives always a well being sentiment just walking along. Friendly guards, carpets, I mean this is the point where one start feeling a bit important :) Then the wood framed shops are welcoming you with great choice of jewellery & watches (those are the most), fragrances, clothing, shoes (great & fine... Just off Piccadily, this is probably the most famous of all the arcades in this part of London. A covered narrow walk-through full of exclusive shops, it's like walking back in time, you can imagine the carriages of Victorian London pulling up and the ladies of the day going shopping! If you enjoy architecture and window displays, this is a... More

This is an indoor shopping strip which the Brits call an "arcade". It has a couple of exclusive stores like Harry's of London and Laduree. The stores in this arcade are patrolled by "Beatles" which make sure the patrons of the shops maintain an orderly conduct. The arcade maintains and looks old fashioned because it is, it dates back to... More

This is a classic shopping arcade from a bygone time and you can see this if you walk down here as it oozes sophistication and class and you can just imagine it in its heyday and the upper class purchasing their goods here - do go and have a look here as you will not be disappointed

Just looking down and into the arcade makes one feel that they have stepped back into the early 19 th century when it was originally built or even into the 1920's when you can imagine it to be awash with the aristocracy looking for that something special to buy a paramour The security guards or Burlington Bradley are still dressed... This is a small but quite pretty shopping arcade running off Piccadilly. There are a number of boutique shops lining either side. Don't expect any bargains. Makes for some attractive photos.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
