We took the Stonehenge/Bath/Avebury tour and it was outstanding. Edward was incredibly knowledgeable about both the archeology and the human history of Britain several thousand years ago. It was a very long day but the itinerary really worked well and my husband, my two teenaged daughters and I were captivated the whole way. I'd recommend this to anyone.

We went on this tour with extremely knowledgeable Edward, our guide on March 21. He was a fountain of information about all of the stops. It was one of the very best tours I've been on anywhere in the world. Before this tour, I knew nothing of Woodhenge,West Kennet Long Barrow or even Avebury. It was a great day. Fair... More

This was probably in the top ten things I've ever done on a trip. Great logistics, great information, great agenda for the day. I think this is the first time I've done a review - because it was so good.

This tour gave much more insight than a standard Stonehenge tour. Edward is knowledgeable, insightful and genuine. If we just did Stonehenge with another company it wouldn't have been worth the trip. But Archaeologist Guided Tours took us beyond Stonehenge, to Salisbury and Abebury, where the history of the main tourist attraction is put into better context.

Our family of 4 including my husband, 15 yr old son, and 13 yr old daughter toured Stonehenge, Bath & Avebury on March 14, 2017 with Edward, our archaeologist tour guide. It was a fantastic tour for all of us and we are the type of people who usually avoid organized tours. However, this tour limits the number of people... More

On this tour the guide is an actual archaeologist, and Stonehenge and other similar sites are explained with care and as much accuracy as the discovered materials allow. Myths about them are clarified, and one gains more respect for the people who lived in this region many thousands of years ago. They become a people who you can see working... More

My husband, my adult son and I spent a wonderful week in London in February and we all agreed that this tour was the highlight! Edward, our guide, met us early in the morning at the prearranged location and immediately made us feel welcome. A comfortable bus arrived promptly and we were off. For the rest of the day, Edward... We enjoyed our tour with Kim to Stonehenge, Salisbury and Avebury. She was very knowledgeable and was excellent with kids. The tour is less than 16 on a small comfortable bus. Our tour had 12 people on a Sunday. It rained at the beginning while we were on the bus and when we first arrived to Woodhenge and Stonehenge. We... More

Our guide Edward shared with us his experiences, knowledge, perspectives based on his work, and he was very passionate about it. If you want to visit Stonehenge, go with a guide, and pick your guide carefully - highly recommended going with Archaeologist Guided Tours

Wish I could rate higher than 5 stars. It felt like a BBC documentary on wheels. Our guide, Edward's depth of knowledge about Stonehenge, Bath was vast. We didn't just simply "see" Stonehenge and Bath, but it was instead an experience. We learned so much, and it was only made better because our guides great personality! It was like we... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
