Really bad pub. Food overpriced for what it is. The staff are really rude and lazy. Dark haired barmaid is really coarse and off putting. Food is of really poor quality and tastes like cardboard. Avoid.

Food looks amazing but isn't cheap, it has a relaxed atmosphere and shows the football which is great. It's basically like every working man's local boozer that's been smacked with the gentrification stick. Meaning all the idiot drunks can't afford to drink here but anyone with a regular income will be fine. Decent Sunday lunch too.

this was a group xmas visit. I do understand the rigours of multi persons catering but know it can be pulled off better than this......the starters were underwhelming and my steak - pre ordered as a medium rare - was plonked (plonked!) down with a shrugged, "they're all the same" but was medium up one end and rareish at the... We went for Sunday lunch, friendly service, good hearty food at reasonable prices, plus dogs are welcome in the bar too which is always a bonus.

Great place for home made food and very well served. The pub was packed with families and thei dogs and children all enjoying nice food with a drink to wash it down. Really worth a visit if your looking for a good lunch.

The tiniest starter I have ever seen, the squid rings were very small and thin, the salad leaves o k but not exciting. They forgot the aioli too! Will not be returning.

I stopped coming here for six months or so as there was no atmosphere and it felt like a restaurant. The new manager and his team have bought a new energy and buzz back. Thank You!!! We are now frequent visitors

I used to visit The Paxton quite frequently as I used to work around the corner in West Norwood. It looks like now there is new management as I was blown away this sunday by the quality of food and swiftness of service! One of the best roast dinners i've had in a long time and very generous portions! Such... More

Each time the Paxton is taken over, I am really hopeful it is going to get better. As it is a 1 minutes walk from my home, I tend to go there fairly frequently, more for convenience than anything else. I was very excited on a recent visit to see a vastly improved menu; visited on Friday lunch and had... More
