Stepping into hamleys brought me right back to my childhood. There is something to suits everyone and we even bought a few bits for ourselves. the staff absolutely love their job which is so nice to see. Most definitely worth a visit if you have time to spare, you won't regret it.

We visited with two children on the Saturday before Easter. The shop was so crammed with people, that it was hard to move around. We'd been excited to see all the toys and to be transported to a world of play where the staff are fun and the atmosphere exciting. We couldn't have been more disappointed, some staff were impatient... More

Last part of our London tour. Me the wife and two children. Kids were really excited about going. There are toys for everyone on the six different floors, many you wouldn't know existed. There's a sort of cafe on the top but it's aimed at young children. Can't help but think hamlets are missing the point here - it's the... More

There must have been five floors of never ending toys options for boys and girls of all ages. On the lower level there is a huge range of star wars merchandise which I had not seen before so if your kids are into star wars and due for a treat then it is the place to go. It is a... More

After living in UK for so many years I had to give in and take my children there. The excitement is contagious, lots of toys, employees demonstrating how some of them work, a marketing exercise to motivate the client into buying what they want, they think they need and sometimes just to keep the children happy. There are endless options... More

Lots of toys to see and many floors. But hard to get around with a stroller, and it was too intensive for a two year old. The demonstrations are nice but a bit too pushy. Overall fun - definitely for older kids.

we got there after a long walk from Trafalgar Sq, the store was not open until 12.00 noon. The store was over priced with little in the way of anything exiting. My wife and daughter whizzed round all floors I purchased two furry toys for my 4 yo and 11yo girls, came to over 30 quid. would not go out... More

Christmas at Hamleys - a must visit if you have children… or if you are a big child yourself! My friend and I visited December 2016 with the purpose of buying Christmas gifts and buy we did. 4 floors of toys for all ages with such a varied choice and fun, excitable staff doing demonstrations. A must visit in London.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
