From antique till that registers your small entrance fee, through the small doorway to the uneven staircase that leads to antiques toys in antique glass cabinets, this is a nostalgic trip down memory lane for the old and a venture in to the quaint & bizarre for the young. An early Monopoly Set shows how far modern mass production has... More

I first visited here as a child twenty years ago - it was wonderful to return with my own family, and it was just as magical as I remember it! Beautiful, unique toys - many handmade - and patient, knowledgeable staff. The shop is tiny and set up a narrow staircase, and is packed full of treasures - a truly... More

We came across this place by accident and were fascinated by the toys in the shop, many of which were from my childhood. We bought quite a few gifts in there. We paid the £6 entry fee to the museum and climbed the narrow stairs following the route through the various rooms. Some of the ceilings were low and the... More

This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I found it very interesting - it is an unusual collection of toys in two old houses. You have to pay £6 to get in, which we thought was reasonable. There are so many toys here, teddy bears, Sooty, Sweep and Sue, scary dolls with beady eyes, dolls houses and miniature... More

What a surprise. Not free, but inexpensive and packed with stuff from nostalgic games of my youth to a 3000 year old Egyptian toy mouse! All jammed in to cabinets, somehow it makes sense... I spent a happy 90min exploring it's several floors and rooms, reading the old typed labels and figuring out the themes. My favourites were the Teddy... More

Old toys and games nearly devoid of any information about them Could be so so much better with a little effort... I would not waste your time, unless you have seen all the other museums and attractions in London and surrounding areas.....

Visited on a whim with a friend while in the area, we were there at about 4pm but it was still open and we were the only ones there. At the entrance we had too wait a little too long for the lady on the desk to finish talking to her friend before serving us. Would've been nice to get... More

Stumbled across this quirky little museum quite by chance. It's small but packed with stuff. The museum is set in an old house dating from 17 and 18 hundreds. I wouldn't make this the sole destination but it's certainly woth making it apart of your day trip.

Went there because we had a London pass. Two plus floors and very cramped, but lots of unique historical toy exhibits. We did enjoy looking at them and reminiscing. i had 9 year old granddaughter with me and she was happy with the exhibits. Nicely organized but hard to take it all in. Lots of cases of different types of... More

First visit was 35 years ago when it was just an old fashioned toy shop with no entrance fee.my children then were mesmerised and my daughter played with the cardboard theatre bought in the shop for hours on end.Sadly the most recent visit with my grandchildren did not have the same effect nor for me either. Apart from the entrance... More
