We enjoyed our first visit with grandchildren aged two and five. Old Cemeteries provide a great combination of history and nature and the Church is a nice focal point. The Visitor Centre wasn't open and a map of site and interpretation boards would be helpful....More

Not sure what to add other than the fact that this is a resting place for the dead. Perhaps it gains more appeal in the summer months? In any case, there are much nicer green spaces in this part of London.

Beautiful little hideout in the middle of east London, full of history if you know where to look, from the graves of victims a of the Titanic to monuments damaged by the blitz and WW1 and WW2 stones. St Mary Magdalene church stands in the...More

Very, very green. You find a lot of bugs in there as I found a grasshopper and it's a really good place to go graves spotting as a lot are hiding in the bushes and under trees. Also it's free.

This is a great place for bird spotting. Nice little visitor centre. Easy to spend a few hours here.

We enjoyed visiting the Reserve for the first time today with our grandchildren aged two and five. We did a bee survey as part of Springwatch and the children were particularly interested in snails and other mini-beasts. We thought a map which explained the numbered points in the reserve would have been useful, such as those at Tower Hamlets Cemetery. What times are the Visitor Centre open as we will definitely return?

I am uncertain when the visitor centre is open. It is open on turn times, as it is used by local schools.
