We stopped for a late May 18 lunch after reading about this historic pub in a Dec 17 WSJ travel piece. Food was okay. Service just okay. Not much ambience at lunch time. Maybe dinner is the right time to visit?

Had lunch with friends in the sunny beer garden. The roasts were amazing, the beer was cold but the best part was the host. He couldn't do enough to make our lunch more enjoyable. I'd never been there before but will certainly go back. Thanks

I've eaten here a few times and it's usually disappointing but yesterday's lunch for two was a new low. I had the Leek and Potato soup: it was thin and watery (when it should be thick and creamy), it was sour with vinegar or lemon...More

My fish and chips were fine but should have been 10£ rather than 15£. My husband's salad had only half the ingredients listed in the menu and was half the size expected. It was worth about 7£ rather than 15£.

Cosy pub with great little beer garden. We visited on an early summer day. Very polite, quick service with tasty food! Children were welcomed by publican. Nostalgic place in a lovely neighborhood.

Young's pub with good choice of Bitter.Still has the glass Snob screens, which were once used to separate the gentry and the servants. Walls fall of old music hall pictures. Great warm staff.

I used to visit this pub on a regular basis in the 1990’s and noughties and was pleased to find that little has changed. It is one of those little back Street gems that are dotted around central London. The beer is well kept and...More

Great little traditional British pub, good choice of beers at a reasonable price. Looks like a proper pub from the outside, looks like a proper pub on the inside and it is a proper pub, beer, food, atmosphere, staff, conversation and locals.
