My daughter and I met a friend here for drinks and food. Downstairs it is proper fully restored Victorian pub, with marvellous woodwork, glass and tiling. Full of people enjoying a drink after work. Upstairs is a much quieter and calmer dining room. The food...More

This pub is not a hole in the wall, wood paneled quaint historic place. It's flashy with Victorian décor and gold and mirror paneling which makes it feel very grand and pretty. We had a nice drink which is all we wanted. There used to...More

Nice looking pub. Which is just as well because you are more likely to spend time looking than drinking. Friday night and thirsty punters two deep all around the three sections of the bar. Only two staff on serving, both in a disinterested manner. What...More

A really lovely pub! A great gem. Lovely decor. Good beers and wine available. Didn't eat so can't comment but the food looked good from what I saw. Always busy though - but that shows it is good!

This is a great bar situated in the Holborn area and not far from The Crown. Worth coming to see their amazing stained glass windows and mirrors. Beautiful! A traditional London pub with ground level seating and space upstairs too. Very friendly staff, good beer...More

Pub 5 on our pub walk (nearly a crawl by this point). Another Sam Smiths, so another wheat beer. Another pub listed on the national inventory of historic pub interiors and you can see why. No neon, no TV's, no sport, just chatter and drinks....More

Great atmosphere and great beer. This is a beautiful gem worth taking the time to visit. Downstairs has a vibrant pub atmosphere, completely authentic and no sense of any fake replication. Upstairs is a beautiful tea room. The beer is great. A real treat for...More

Inner London’s busiest streets crisscross quiet
cobbled lanes for an effect that can be urbane or
quaint – or an intriguing blend of both – depending on
the particular corner you turn. Due to its especially
convenient location, bustling Holborn hosts an
excellent range of hotels, eateries, and shops to suit
practically any taste or budget. With major
attractions like the British Museum and Somerset House

Only just seen your question. This place is one of my favourites in London, and I've been to hundreds. The previous answer mentions the ground floor bar area but somehow has failed to mention the lovely, authentic Victorian... More
