Dimly lit, but not dusty, this museum displays such an eclectic collection of artifacts, natural history, and fossils that it defies classification. Go, and be amazed, and amused, and enlightened. So enjoyable.

So much stuff to see in such a small place. Lots of different areas of interest to keep you entertained. The 'hand of glory' is bizarre, but has to be seen. Well worth the entrance fee.

There's a great variety of things to see here, from the amazing fossils to bird life, boat models and just about everything else associated with the local area, the staff are also very helpful and there's a nice little cafeteria on site. The park and gardens are well worth a wander round.

Together with this is an art gallery again depicting some of Whitbys history. Clearly in need of some internal modernisation, this does not detract from the many interesting exhibits. Do allow plenty of time to absorb this... More

Brilliant, it hasn't changed. Loved it at the age of 8, it's still great now. Worth a visit, whatever your age.

If you have a couple of hours to spare in Whitby, the museum in Pannet Park is a must. It is full of interesting items, such as rare examples of fossils, a display of Whitby jet jewellery, marine history and natural history. There is also an art gallery on site with different exhibitions running. A proper traditional museum that is... More

We have been visiting Whitby for years and only just found this fantastic Museum in Pannet Park. It was just so interesting we could have stayed for hours. The Park is beautiful too and the Art Gallery is very interesting. Don't miss visiting this it's really worth taking a look at.

This museum is absolutely perfect for a rainy afternoon. This place has no shortage of objects on display and is an absolute must for anyone interested in fossils or maritime history.
