Went to pass a few hours on a wet afternoon, wish we had gone in earlier, after spending a couple of hours we still had not seen everything yet we had to leave as they were closing , there is a £5 fee to get in, from ships to clothes, toys to fossils there is something for everyone, really enjoyed... We found the staff most helpful and informative, the many displays were very interesting .Plenty on show to grab the attention of patrons of all ages.We visited when a school group were being escorted through the museum, the questions generated by the children were absolutely fascinating.A joy for all to hear their minds ticking over with their very own thirst for... As always we'll worth a visit. Ask a member of staff to show you some of the more unusual exhibits, like the hangman rope broach, or the healing hand? Lost to see almost to much. I guess a couple of hours would be sufficient to see most stuff. Also a good quality if small art gallery. Great play ground outside... More

Being at a bit of a lose end on a wet day in Whitby we decided to give the museum a go. Quite expensive to get in at £5.00 considering how small it is, and also was a bit disappointed that the cafe wasn't open could have done with a cup of tea and would probably have stayed longer if... More

We were drawn to visit the Museum during a particularly wet rainy Sunday. How glad we were that we went! The museum is very "traditional" in that they have big oak floor boards, and huge wooden display cases for many of the exhibits. As you might expect in a Whitby museum, they have a huge display of Fossils, and Maritime... More

This is a lovely little museum that took us a couple of hours to get round. There is lots of maritime history as you would expect from Whitby including a display of ships and other items in bottles, lightbulbs etc. I could have spent hours working out how they got in there. On the maritime theme there are also lost... More

At Whitby for the Goth Weekend we decided to visit the Museum in Pannet Park and were delighted to find there was a fee reduction for people going along dressed in their Goth finest! A wide variety of extremely interesting things on view and helpful staff member on hand. Displays were nicely presented and lots of interesting information on each... More
