Stunning location, easy to access information and helpful staff all worked together to make this a fascinating couple of hours. We were fortunate to visit and a beautiful sunny day but I can imagine it is no less stunning whatever the weather

Nice to walk around, lovely views, interesting audio guide. Cost £7.90 for an adult ticket and audioguide. Lots of stairs to reach the Abbey on foot.

You can see Whitby Abbey on the headland from any direction you travel into Whitby. It looks quite truly remarkable; stark, desolate and imposing. There is quite a good museum, shop and tea room on site so on a poor day you can get inside and shelter from the rain. You can also walk amongst the ruins imagining what it... More

I took my 2 boys here while camping in Yorkshire, we loved it, but it was very busy. Parking the car was easy, we found a spot opposite the co-op, pay and display, very close to the tourist information centre. It's unspoilt, pretty and clean. The beach is spotless and very accessible, with deck chair hire for a couple of... More

Walked up to the Abbey and had a look around from the outside and still had great pictures rather than paying expensive prices to get in from the official entrance.

This site is an interesting trip into the past. The audio was well put together with many interesting facts. You could select more about each topic the explored during history and replay at your leisure. The site is still under review as to what work should be under taken, so it's work in progress. This certainly gives you insights into... More

One of the iconic sights, not just in Whitby but in the whole region. No trip to the town should miss out on a visit - even if you only take a view from outside the walls. Explore the grounds, marvel at the architecture, use your imagination to revisit Dracula and tales of gothic horror. It's not cheap to get... More

We saw the Dracula show at the Abbey and all really enjoyed it. Very funny, great audience interaction and impressive acting. Highly recommended.

The Whitby Abbey is amazing. The history, the views and just being there is wow. It is a tad expensive but worth it. It was a little disappointing at the coffee shop. The walk-through to the church and grounds at the top of the 199 steps is beautiful. The teenagers ran around and had fun we got some great photos.
