Look out for the history

A great museum for kids and a nice place for a picnic but also look out for the wall with the line of red tiles, they are Roman!

The gardens are well kept and make for an enjoyable stroll on a nice day. As with most of York, everywhere is spotlessly clean and maintained to an excellent standard.

We loved our walk through the park, peaceful and spring bulbs popping up even in winter! Easy accessible paths, kept clean & tidy

This garden is absolutely beautiful, perfect for a picnic. Come and see the beautiful squirrels playing and burying their nuts!

We spent a few hours on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon feeding the incredibly curious squirrels wandering around the gardens. I even managed to get a nice photo of a Blue Tit perched on my palm. The gardens have both history and beauty throughout the year.

A nice garden for a peaceful walk where you can let your children loose. The garden is full of well maintained pathways and contains old buildings such as the St. Mary's Abbey ( remains of ). Runs right next to the river.

A lovely place with plenty of room for the kids to run while you relax and watch the world go by! There are nooks and crannies to discover, delicious ice-creams, stretches of grass and lovely flower beds. Our 6 year old loves exploring the small woods in the middle to find the squirrels! A trip to the city centre usually... More

Worth a relaxing walk round . Friendly squirrels and good range of trees. The ruins are worth a look and the riverside walk is pretty.
