Some interesting plants, well kept, views of the river and the fab St. mary's Abbey is in the grounds plus Roman remains (part of the city walls). Nice place to sit on a warm day, away from the hustle and bustle

This was the first place we visited when we got off the Park & Ride bus. The garden is well kept and we enjoyed being able to wander around the ruined abbey. Thank you City of York.

This was a lovely area to wander around as well as a great place to have a picnic lunch or just a rest. There is nice path weaving around, lots of benches as well as a children's play area.

In the museum there is a lift to all floors and disabled toilets in the basement. There is a ramp leading to the entrance and there are ramps all around the gardens plus lots of benches to sit on and watch the world go by... More

The gardens are free to enter however Im sure the museum has a small fee to enter it :)

From Bootham turn into Marygate and turn right just before the Bay Horse into the car park. After leaving your car return to Marygate and the entrance to the gardens is adjacent to St Olave's Church. There are no toilets... More
