Beautiful rooms on the theme of the Fairfax family, so lots of history and context. Fun exotica to erotica exhibition

If you really want to know what it was like during the Georgian time period in York, take a tour of the Fairfax House. It is enjoyable and very informative and will get you out of the heat or cold in a beautiful place to visit.

Amazingly preserved Georgian town house enhanced by appropriate furniture and clocks of the period and at present decorated for Christmas with period decorations. Guides in each room very knowledgeable. House was previously a dance hall/cinema and changed back to original by York Civic Trust in 1984
