Lovely to see the house decked out for a Georgian Christmas. The guides were mostly knowledgeable and friendly. It's a nice way to spend an hour and it's pretty good value. It's probably an unfair comparison with the Castle Musuem, which we'd been in the day before, but it just felt slightly 'flat'. Not a must-see for me but still... More

We had a lovely visit with the house dressed for Christmas and dining room had a splendid sugar craft centre piece, unfortunately cant take photos . The guides were excellent and knowledgeable. There was Mulled wine and mince pies in the kitchen, the only downside being extra to the entry fee , £3 each , thought it was a bit... More

Although the furniture is not original to the house it is none the less extremely interesting and beautiful . One of the best features of the house are the spectacular ceilings and it is worth visiting just for these alone . Staff are very knowledgeable and very nice and friendly

I have lived near this gem most of my life but as is the way went after persuasion from friends from away. The lovely house was bedecked with holly and other delights for Christmas and a sumptuous meal was laid out in the dining room. The house was beautifullydecorated for Christmas and each room was described by friendly enthusiastic volunteers who made the visit very interesting. Very well worth visiting.

If you like history and the Georgian period - don't miss this. A good selection of rooms, beautifully laid out as in Georgian times and decorated for Christmas - lovely

Visited here at the weekend, stunning period house, each room has a guide all of who are extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Well worth a visit.
