Visited using our York card to gain admission. Tour lasts just over a hour and you proceed by walking through a number of rooms were actors in costume tell you about englands gruesome past. The stories progress from the vikings to the time of the...More

We've got some exciting surprises coming later this year, don't think we're stuck in the past...even though all of our shows are set in the past...

Firstly on the website it advertises booking tickets from £10... none of the tickets are £10 when booking on the day!!! It isn't clear that you have to book prior than on the day to get them at £10... they are still cheaper than the...More

We do recommend The York Dungeon for ages 10 and over, though younger children who are feeling brave are always welcome. Our Guidebooks are actually jam-packed with facts, legends, activities and more, all based on the history of York. If you're visiting and fancy learning...More

Booked online, which saved us best part of £7 each. We had booked in for the 1.45-2.00pm slot. We did have to wait to get in for about half an hour. It was definitely worth the tenner each. Sets, scenes and story telling was good....More

No-one likes a cringe, we'd rather make you laugh, or scream, either or really. Good tip booking online, unfortunately busier periods may result in a bit of a wait, but that's only so we don't shove you in like sheep in a pen! We want...More

Ooh a Merlin Annual Pass holder (they get entry into ALL UK attractions, we highly recommend getting one). Thank you for stopping off; we like to think ourselves as truly unforgettable, and love that your smaller peasant was brave enough to come through and enjoy...More

Let me start by saying that the adults and teenagers that managed to stay for the whole of the tour enjoyed themselves, however some of the younger members of our party had to leave due to it being too graphic and scary for them. We...More

We do recommend for ages 10 and over, but fall under "family friendly". Some might think us a bit too gory, especially for younger guests, but mostly we focus on scary fun.

Would defiantly recommend. All the staff there were brilliant, although the Viking in the queue told me he's going to kill me because I was using my mobile phone and I was obviously a witch! Every part was hilarious and learnt a lot from it....More

An excellent way to pass just over an hour in York - especially if you enjoy the more gruesome side of history, and are up for a bit of audience participation! Excellent fun on our tour - perhaps not suitable for small children or those...More

No really small children or wimps allowed! Well, obviously they ARE allowed but if you're very easily scared, you're not going to really enjoy it are you? Maybe! What we're trying to say is, be brave.

We've been to the London Dungeon and Amsterdam Dungeon - but, for us, York Dungeon tops them both. The actors were brilliant. They were engaging, clearly enjoyed being there, and really added to the experience. We loved the Dick Turpin scene, and the scenes with...More
