I loved the crowded street that felt like Diagon Alley from the Harry Potter films. Didn't see a wand shop though.

The Shambles are far from what they are called. This historic piece of York is amazing and the street is so well maintained with its period features. It was always busy when I visit d and a real winner with tourists.

Not my first time in York and my reaction to the Shambles was the same as before i.e. interesting but very over-rated as a place to visit.
