This museum is temporarily scattered across the locations until the main building is repaired. Despite that, the exhibits are wonderfully done and very informative. The docents asked actors are very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a very nice time.

We visited the exhibition on tour at the church opposite and at the theatre. Although never going to be on a par with main exhibition, these offered good value in helping to complete a school Viking project. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Lots still to see and do while Jorvik gets back to flood free operations.

We love this place pity it's closed although there are still staff on the entrance to offer info and the shop was open.

Although half of the attraction is still being fixed due to flooding, it was a good hour or so. Lots to see and read about and the staff were all very informative too. Will have to revisit once it reopens fully.

Heard a lot about this place so thought we would give it a go. Was ok but not as good as what I thought it would be.quite small and really awful smell but apparently that is what it was like back then, gives you a sense of how it was for people at that time. Wouldn't go back as I personally... More

My friend and I really enjoyed the Jorvik Viking Centre when we went to York for the Christmas Markets last year. The "ride" where they take you through a typical Viking village was great fun - the sights and smells and sounds made it very realistic! The tickets are reasonably-priced and valid for a year after purchase. My husband (fiancé... More

This temporary exhibition was in the church next door to the Viking Centre. There were a few objects and panels but several costumed interpreters who formed the core of this exhibition with various replicas from the old Viking Centre display. They were all approachable and willing to share their knowledge. I particularly liked the use of museum objects from store... More
