A childhood favourite place of mine, always a pleasure to come here and feed the ducks, but blimey, can someone do something about the geese and their by product, darn near tripped up over some of the huge slimy piles at the waters edge!

Filled with lovely beds of tulips when we went, well maintained, clean and with some beautiful plant specimens. The pond area was particularly attractive. Didn't go in the children's play area, but there were plenty of happy shrieks indicating enjoyment. Good toilets, and someone had decorated the blossoming cherry trees with crochet bees and knitted things - it looked fab.

This is our favourite park, suitable for all ages, usual swings, slides, etc also a zip line, table tennis tables, tennis courts, basket ball, skate / bike area. Lots of area to walk, run or relax, nice gardens, ponds the only negative we have on the whole area would be the Geese, well the mess the Geese leave all over... More

This is the place in York for a walk under the trees and along the river on a sunny afternoon. With the combination of manicured gardens and native plant growth, it has everything to make a fine afternoon stroll.

If like me you go running by the river, on the occasions you find yourself to be over confident and go for the full circuit from home, to Clifton green, to Judi Dench walk, to Kings arms, to millenium Bridge then circuit round to Clifton Bridge via opposite end of river then Rowntrees park is a God send when you... Perfect for a day out! Lovely ponds, lovely grounds, it's well looked after. Great place to have a wander around. We took a picnic me and my little boy but there is a burger van and an icecream van there too. Two parks for the kiddies to play on and the field in the centre is kept clean so I... More

A lovely park, nice cafe, but gets the thumbs down because of all the geese. What used to be an area for playing ball with the children and having a picnic is now spoil by geese, the footpaths are covered in Geese faeces. I counted about 40 geese on the grass and it is covered in goose pooh. There is... More

Bit dissapointed as flower beds are poor and water needs a good clean out, it seems to be all about the kids as playground is well kept, but what about the older visitor? And what has happened to the bandstand?????
