Everyone should see the Minster. Brilliant original stained glass windows (removed during WW2). Be sure to catch a occasional free organ recital at lunchtime. The buskers outside are also worth listening to.

Walked around the Minster and viewed it from the wall as well - superb structure. Had lunch in the Minster park in the sun - extremely impressive. Did not go inside, but certainly will next time.

Beautiful, peaceful and interesting. Loved the stained glass. The organ sounds glorious and a choir was practicing and sounded 'heavenly '.

This Cathedral is simply amazing. This history is amazing. Plus the more recent discoveries are truly eye-opening. Once the curent renovations are done, it should be even more amazing.

If you live nearby... the 10 pounds it costs to enter gives you access for 12 months. Beautiful building steeped in history. A must see... especially the tour below the Minster

You can see it from most any part of city center. It is very impressive and you just keep taking photos of it. Inside we had a guide to explain a bit of it's history. After seeing several similar this was just ok inside. It...More

York Minster is stunning but it costs a fortune to keep it standing, hence the quite high entrance fee. There is a lot to see so allow a couple of hours and go round slowly taking in the odd little quirks. Like the arches don't...More

We did a self guided tour with no guide or time restrictions. My husband and son took the roof top tour and it was filled over an hour out. Go early if you don’t have the ability to wait. They seemed to run every 45 minutes... More
