Got to pay this a visit if you're near York, take the free guided tour but then explore by yourself down into the underground bits. The stained glass is fantastic and all has its own pice of history. The story of how it's has grown over the years from a small wooden church into one of today's mega cathedrals comes... More

What a beautiful place, we spent about 2 hours here the architecture is something you really need to see to fully appreciate the amazing place that York Minster is both below ground & above. Admission is £10 per adult & worth every penny.

Well worth a visit the architecture is amazing and breath taking and a lot of history . There is the choice of either looking around by yourself or doing a guided tour which you have to pay for . There is also for a charge a chance to walk up the 275 steps in the tower apparently if you make... More

This 800+ year old religious icon is a wonder to examine inside and out. Even if you don't take a tour, I recommend appreciating the architecture and glancing inside.

Awesome cathedral. Really enjoyed seeing all of the medieval stained glass and the differences from stained glass windows from one era to the next. Also enjoyed the Victorian ceiling medallion, with Mary bottle feeding baby Jesus. We only had time for about an hour. Not nearly enough t. Hope to go back sometime.

York Minster is a cathedral beyond compare. There has been a structure on the site for at least seventeen hundred years. The current gothic cathedral boasts stained glas and an architectural program that are unique and powerful. My wife and I were fortunate to have Chris Adams as our guide. His enthusiasm for and knowledge of the building, it's history... More

Was so looking forward to revisiting York Minster, however at £10 entry($18Aus) to see the inside of a church, was way too much for me, and my friend. I really don't expect to have to pay to visit a church/cathedral. A donation, yes. Sign of modern times, and the expenses of upkeep.

Had a short break to York with my partner, a lot of the locals told us to visit the Minster so we did. It's £10 to get in. I have to say this isn't usually my type of thing, not something I can appreciate (in a non offensive way) it's just something not for me. Saying that it is incredible... More

This is am impressive cathedral and well worth a visit which come with a free guided tour. There is plenty to see in the Cathedral but to my mind what really made it was going underneath. This tells the story of the work done to underpin the foundations of the central tower in the 1970s and what was found in... More
