We travelled on Sat 27th May, the journey was pleasant & when we arrived there was an abundance of staff on the platforms directing you to the exits, not sure if this is the norm as it was my first visit using the train, today everyone was being ushered to one exit where there were several staff checking to ensure... Had a longer than expected stop at York Station when my train was cancelled due to powerline failure outside Edinburgh affecting the Edinburgh to London service. I had a heave suitcase with me and was pleased to find the elevators and underground tunnels all in good order and clean. A bar and a restaurant on the platform near the ticket... More

This station is very well laid out and the signs are very clear. The staff are very helpful if you want a ticket time change. There are the usual coffee and sandwich stalls. The station is always clean and tidy and i have never failed to see cleaning staff working to keep it this way.

If you are into railway, and especially the age of steam, then this is the place for you. Trains of all descriptions including carriages of the Queen Victoria and family (they must have been small). Well worth a visit but make sure you leave plenty of time. It's free but you can donate to the cause.

York station is well located but felt a little too small to accommodate all the passengers on a busy weekend. It seems well kept and clean.

This place is crammed with nostalgia. If you're a train buff ho here, fabulous. Actual trains are incredible and the dedication of the people who restored them deserve full marks. Even if the sun is shining still go, it's light and warm it out the tan

What a dump if a station - nice architecture but dirty - toilets awful - hand dryers not working - not good enough these days

The station was well presented but the system they had for announcements reminded me of the standards in the 70's. Just wish they could upgrade that as most stations have.

As train stations go this is good but its let down by rip off prices at the food and drink places - its cynical! I had a pasty from the pasty place because I was hungry and there is never any food on the trains - and it was good - but at £4.95 it was a real rip off... More
