    Stargazing at its finest!
This is stargazing at its finest! Wil is so knowledgeable& explains everything in full detail! The dome is a great addition to the site, to be able to see the constellations live in any place in the world at any given time is amazing especially inside on the comfort of a recliner chair, to then go outside& use some top quality telescopes to see venus a rnagw of constellations, three space stations in transit, a shooting star through the telescope& of course the July Supermoon (Wil even helped us each get a picture of this)... would deffo recommend& will absolutely return at some point!

A very interesting and informative evening. Knowing next to nothing about the cosmos we weren’t sure what to expect. Will is a very enthusiastic and engaging teacher who shares his knowledge and insights into some mind boggling areas in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Sadly there was too much cloud for some real stargazing on the night we went but weirdly we didn’t mind as Will used the planetarium to share more fascinating facts and images.

Amazing experience, a must for anyone visiting the area!
Having always loved space, I'd done plenty of amateur stargazing in my time. But I'd never even looked through a telescope before attending my first event at Twice Brewed. Little did I know what I'd been missing out on! On my very first event (September 2020), I saw the Moon in all its glory, Jupiter and the Galilean moons, Saturn and its rings, the beautiful double star Albireo, star clusters (the double star cluster in Perseus), a Nebula (the Ring Nebula, I believe) and much more besides. All accompanied by the expert knowledge of Wil, who is extremely engaging and keen in sharing his enthusiasm for the night sky. I've since dived into the rabbit hole and purchased my own telescopes, but it's still a pleasure to visit Twice Brewed Stargazing when I am up North. The most recent addition to the site is the Planetarium, which is simply incredible! Sit back and watch as you are given a tour of the night sky as it is mapped out above you, and enjoy the stunning graphics of one of the varied movies the planetarium possesses about space. Even if the night is cloudy, its still a fantastic experience and well worth doing.

    Stargazing
This was a brilliant experience. Wil was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and as we were only a small group we felt privileged to have his personal attention. The opening lecture was very interesting and the planetarium is excellent but it was the stargazing experience outside that was really special . We viewed star clusters, binary stars, a nebula and the oldest and youngest stars viewable. We also ended up staying late to see Saturn which was fantastic! Thanks so much Wil, you are a star!

    Amazing experience
Had an amazing time star gazing yesterday with Will. He was an engaging and hilarious speaker and we enjoyed all parts of the experience from the talk to the planetarium to the star gazing with amazing person to telescope ration. He also personalised the experience for us all which was a lovely touch. Highly recommend and we are planning to return!

    Highlight of our trip
Fantastic stargazing evening with Wil at the start of August. It was great to have the mix of classroom, planetarium and telescope. My daughter was fascinated from start to finish. We saw and learn so much and are planning a return. Thanks Wil.

    Shooting stars
Fantastic night seeing shooting stars. Amazing experience. Had a great time looking through the telescope at planets, galaxies, stars etc. We were given a mat to lie on to watch the shooting stars which was a great experience. Would recommend twicebrewed stargazing to all my friends.

    Despite the weather
We were given a present of supper, stargazing and sleep at Twice Brewed. Very enjoyable, even though it rained all evening! Wil is a knowledgable and enthusiastic astronomer, and gave a great presentation. We also went into the almost-finished observatory for a projected view of the stars. We will definitely go back and hope for a clear sky!

    Perseids Meteor Shower 2023
Our weekend has been amazing. We have attended three stargazing events with Wil and can honestly say every time has been fabulous and varied/different because of the changes between seasons - so that analogy of if you’ve seen it once isn’t right in this instance. This weekend was all about the Perseids Meteor Shower and two nights of amazing shooting stars. This event was made extra special because of the new planetarium wow what a facility and will appeal to all ages. Wil who runs the events knows his stuff, he goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has the best experience, he’s passionate, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and thoroughly engaging and entertaining. He offers tips for stargazing, photography and much more. A definite not to be missed opportunity if you’re in Northumberland and if you’re not make a special journey to come and take part. Well done you’ve created a very special environment we will return again and again. Thank you Gwen and Darren

    THE BEST in Northumberland.
If I could score more than 5/5 I really would. This was my second time at Twice Brewed Stargazing and it is the only one I would now attend in the north east having sampling one (pretty famous) other. Wil creates an enthusiastic experience, he is very knowledgable but doesn’t make you feel like you’re sat in a boring science lesson. The first time I attended considering it was pretty cloudy he still got us all outside and pointed things out as soon as there was a break in the clouds. I then attended again last night as part of the Perseids meter shower and WOW, what a night. Twice brewed have many telescopes so there is only max 4 per telescope is also a great addition compared to other stargazing events. Wil is quick to point out something in the sky and then run around all the telescopes quickly pointing them directly to what he is showing us. Overall, if you want to stargaze in Northumberland you must attend this event if you want to leave totally blown away! Can’t wait to return.

Be sure to book this experience when you are in the area. It was led by two very knowledgeable guys who obviously love what they do. We learned a lot, but at the same time, had fun. I loved the telescope experience, which was made interesting, even though it was a somewhat cloudy night.

We booked the stargazing event with an overnight & supper stay and I must say, everything about it was absolutely perfect! From the moment we stepped through to doors right until we had to reluctantly check out! The staff were attentive to our needs as well as accommodating when needed. The views in the restaurant were beautiful and a lovely scenic view whilst we were our food. The only downside was having to only choose one option as everything on the menu looked amazing!

I went for the cheese soufflé starter, which was delicious and not something you find anywhere. Then I had the Cumberland sausage with mash and this was a huge portion but laid out so beautifully. Felt like we overdone it by this point but we powered on to dessert as we wanted to experience everything twice brewed inn offered. Thankful for this as we got to have the amazing dark chocolate slice. They had offered the specials to be included with our supper option and I would've liked to see this as a menu for each table but with it changing daily, I understand this wouldn't be ideal.

We then went up to the hotel to chill out before wrapping up to gaze at the stars. I believe there were 10 groups of us so each group had a telescope to themselves. The stars were very beautiful and Wil was knowledgeable when it came to presenting. I would like to give a shout out to Alec as well as Ruby as they were a huge help during the trip and lovely to speak with. On this particular night, the sky wanted to tease us and would occasionally get cloudy and even rained at one point but nonetheless, it was a lovely experience and we managed to see the moon at full beam :)

The morning after, we had breakfast and this was also delicious. With us having stayed the night, this was complimentary. There was an option from the hot dish menu as well as a breakfast buffet laid out with yoghurts, cereal, fruit, juice etc. Tons of options and a lot of flexibility if you were a picky eater.

All in all, an amazing experience and would love to do it again!

This is my second visit and my boyfriends first visit to this stargazing event at Twice Brewed and Wil is amazing! His knowledge and enthusiasm are second to none and you learn so much from him.
We got to see some amazing things including the International Space Station.
There are plenty of telescopes and Wil and his helper Alex come around and set the telescopes up for you so you get to see everything that you can during the time you are outside.
Wonderful experience once again and we will be looking into one of Wils Iceland trips in the future, thank you so much for a fun and informative evening

I bought this experience as a gift for my husband’s Christmas. We arrived at the inn and were promptly shown to our table. The staff in here were brilliant, friendly and helpful. Food was amazing and the place was clean and nicely decorated.

Then to the main event. Wil was excellent. Worked really hard to make sure everyone in the very large crowd had a good night. We got to see a range of things through the telescope including Jupiter, Orion’s Belt, binary stars and the Seven Sisters. His talk was great and his excitement and humour were fab, really made the night even more enjoyable.

He kept an eye on the aurora to ensure we had the best chance of seeing them. We saw the planetarium film which was great and gave you a fantastic taste of what the lights can be like. After it we walked back out and Wil happily told us the Aurora was reaching a peak. We managed to get them on my phone. It was so exciting.

My husband and I both had an amazing night and have already decided we will need to return!

I took two of my grandchildren to the “we are aliens” show and they were in awe. Fantastic venue and the 360 degree presentation was amazing. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
