We are members and this place is quite local to us so we decided to give it a go. A lovely little cottage with small grounds to match. It doesn't take long to look around unless you stop to pet the donkeys for a while, which we did! The staff were very welcoming and friendly and I decided to purchase... More

This is a small property but well worth a visit. The team make you feel So welcome and as so friendly. Nothing to much trouble they spend time telling you all about the property and who lived there. It was very interesting. Plenty of places for children to play. Great to see the donkeys.

Just a house and a cottage and a small area of land but very interesting place - the carvings by Bewick (never heard of him!) are inspiring and their tiny cottage home is amazing (9 people sqeezed in there...). Friendly helpful staff and a pleasant drink in the kitchen cafe

This is my local NT property and my family and I visit, maybe, 6 times a year. The home of Thomas Bewick, a celebrated author and wood engraver, this property is very small but is set in the beautiful Tyne Valley and plays host to all sorts of fun and games during summer holidays and at other times of the... Hadn't heard of Thomas Bewick, but as National Trust members I enjoyed this place anyway - interesting exhibits in a quiet and peaceful setting. Nice gardens and property, and the museum part is informative. Not the biggest property and I'd say a little pricey for the full admission, but for what there is to display it's well done

Visited Cherryburn yesterday with my university and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It is small so you can be round in the hour but the garden walks are gorgeous and on a lovely sunny day taking a picnic would be a fantastic way to spend the day! The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly! Highly recommended 😁

It's quite an interesting place showing works of Thomas Bewick, specially the printing blocks, sequence of works by drawing and carving the wood. and it is also an interesting place for kids, specially with the friendly donkeys, my daughter loved it, and of course Chocolate the hen.

There where four adults on our visit disappointed at tea room not a lot of choice but clean and pleasant. Museum interesting and the detail on art work outstanding. Nice walk round paddock but it is very short. Can only stay around an hour and seen it all.

Have visited here many times with our children. Lovely little place brimming with history set in a quiet lovely area. Staff have always been knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. Been the Easter trail which the kids loved, and also to the Bat talk which was very interesting and great looking for Bats with the detectors. Has a nice... More

We often meet up with friends here when the weather is warm enough. It is absolutely perfect for families with young children as they have lots of space to run round, investigate and enjoy nature whilst still being small enough to keep an eye on them. The best time is during Easter when they do the Cadbury's Easter Hunt. Other... More
