Spending the bank holiday in Edale, Kinder had to be climbed. Starting from The Nags Head pub up Grindesbrook over the top and back down Jacobs Ladder to Upper Booth then back to Edale to The Nags Head for a well earned pint! Hard work and not a stroll in the park but well worth the views when you get... More

We walked from Edale and went up Jacobs ladder around the top of Kinder Scout via the Waterfall (Not much water when we visited) and then back down into Edale. Was a lovely walk with great varied scenery. Got a little off track in the bog area as the path following the stream seems to tail off and disappear, but... More

Walked up to Kinder Reservoir from Hayfeld on a gorgeous April day, not too hot but warm enough for shirtsleeves and to catch the sun. There looked to be two ways to get there from the village, firstly you come quickly across a bridleway on the left of Kinder Road which takes you there over a distance of 1.5 miles.... More

Walked from Edale to Kinder downpour on Wednesday. The weather was excellent and views amazing! We started the walk early , be careful though when starting early the toilets in the car park are locked. Celebrated completing the walk by a wonderful pint in the The Old Knags Head and a portion of chips- Life doesn't get better.

The scenery is great and the hike route as well. However, when it has rained/snowed a lot the path is very unclear. Also, very slippery and with the snow kind a hard. Not a short hike and when you are on top windy, so be prepared!! When we got halfway through it started snowing very hard and the path was... More

A pure gem in the English countryside, well worth every step taken and not over strenuous for the less seasoned walker. Fantastic views of the snow covered Peak District from the top An absolute must for the English country liver

Had a great walk in Hayfield round Kinder. Fantastic views great location. Had a lovely meal at the Roundhouse in Hayfield village in the evening, great atmosphere and top class food. Hayfield is a great place to visit.

Hello ! A few hours ago I walked to Kinder Scout. It was blowing and raining on the top. I had a very good map, but the main problem is that the way (the path) wasn't signed at all. Neither signposts nor arrows. Why ? I don't understand it. Specially ? Fortunately views were impressive and I'm very glad to... More

I have walked on kinder scout many times and on many different routes, upto Ringing Roger from Edale or jaggas clough and Crookstone moor also from Edale.Birchin clough to kinder gates from Snake pass is well worth doing as are the routes from Hayfield. In all Kinder Scout is a fine mountain with many good walks worth doing again and again.
