A magnificent 17th century ducal mansion built on the site of the original Medieval Castle. The Castle has a turbulent past, linked to kings and conquerors and still has a maze of original caves hidden beneath its imposing walls. Now the building houses a Museum & Art Gallery, offering visitors an opportunity to see the best regional, national and international art in the regularly changing exhibition galleries. Plus the permanent exhibitions showcase costume and textiles, silverware, glass and a glimpse into Nottingham's history.

As many reviewers have said it's more of a box or building on a hill. The museum is fine but some of the art is way out there and too modern for my tastes. I wanted to walk the walls and climb towers etc but...More

The museum itself was interesting but easy to get lost in and we realised when we left, that there was a Robin Hood themed room there that we didn't see, I think it was downstairs, which would have been of most interest to us. The...More

more of a box on top of a hill , rather than a castle visited without children with us glad really as I think they would have expected almost a camalot type castle , due to the local lore, that said very interesting well maintained...More

Unfortunately it was a rainy day which didn't help us feel it was worth the entry fee. Too wet to go round the grounds which looked well kept but thought it was a good place to visit out of the rain. Videos and plenty of...More

The place is full of charming nooks and crannies to explore. It was kept well with flower beds and the points of interest within the ground appeared to be maintained well. There were benches placed throughout the grounds if you need to sit down. There...More

During the school holidays we thought it was time to visit Nottingham castle. We know it's had money spent on it but considering the price it was poor. Dull inside, not much to do for children. No Play area. We do have a return receipt...More

Came on Saturday afternoon at around 2.30pm and the 2 of us went in. At £8 each we were expecting perhaps something that was different or interesting. We realised at 3pm we had missed the last tour of the caves so were fairly disappointed that...More

Hi, mine was £7 as an adult, you can ask for this as an annual or day pass, to then go into the caves was another £7, there was also family tickets and I think the concessions were £5 admission and £5 for the caves. hope... More

I liked the cave tour at Nottingham Castle because of the tour guide and the whole experience in total. There you have the caves and the guide tells you stories that happened there, but you just get to see the caves. City of... More
