Overview
More
Discover the people, companies and industries that made Nottingham famous around the world. The museum has five galleries each relating to a key Nottingham industry: textiles, transport, communication, mining and steam. Through our collection, we encourage our visitors to investigate Nottingham’s rich industrial heritage. The museum boasts many wonderful artefacts and exhibits including a working Basford Beam engine and an original Thomas Humber Bicycle. The museum sits in the 17th-century stable block of Wollaton Hall. On the last Sunday of every month, we hold a working day where you can see a selection of our engines running.

This museum is well worth a visit whilst at Wollaton Hall. I used to live near Nottingham so was aware of all the industries that there were, Raleigh cycles, Players cigarettes, Ericsson telephones, Boots the Chemist and Nottingham lace.
