Low Staffed but decent travel through time...

old and out dated, however this could be seen as a positive. Location: Great! easy to access and right next to Nottingham castle.

Me and a few friends came here before going on a little bar crawl, as it has a lot of publicity around it being the oldest pub in the country. We ended up getting a few pints of the pale ales and weren't at all disappointed! They were all delicious, and we sat outside in their massive smoking area and... More

Lovely to visit and have a drink somewhere that's different to the usual. Lots of little places to sit with plaques on the wall explaining details. Outside seating at the front wasn't great. Will be back in summer time!

That pub is must to see experience if you are in Nottingham! It has been there since 1189! It's quite small inside and you could image the bar life from former centuries. You could see the Nottingham castle from the terrace and that's nice view.

What a lovely place, staff very friendly and we were very lucky to find a table - you must go here for a drink at the very least

This is a one off pub carved into the sandstone mountain. We had a few beers and they were all good. We also had some food. Fish and chips and burgers. They were ok but not something I would walk an extra mile for. Good service and polite staff.

Visited the pub when in town as a must, very small inside but lovely outside area. Great selection of beer and well worth a visit.

It was a really unique spot and cool atmosphere for a small group. Had indoor and outdoor seating. Had a nice selection of drinks. I think it served good but I didn't try it.

Popped in for a drink on a tour of funky pubs in Nottingham, wow pub in the castle wall, staff were really friendly. Very small pub bit tight if busy, but worth a visit

Great little pub set into the rocks beneath the castle. The rooms are all oddly shaped with great character. Lots of options for drinks, especially beers. Also do good food. Often very busy!
