What centre?? my mother and I looked round and round, up and down every street. We checked maps online and Googled for information but couldn’t find anything detailing the lace centre apart from 3 signs with some information and a row of houses? Such a shame, a heritage like this should be celebrated.

This is a very confusing place. We wandered round and around looking for a centre but it's just an area. Mostly full of offices, some restaurants and a handful of shops. There is a pretty church with an unkempt churchyard. There is a very old building behind hoardings and scaffolding and we found a couple of plaques on a wall... More

A pleasant part of the city centre within walking distance of the hustle and bustle of the busy shopping streets. Gives you a good flavour of part the city's heritage, with a surprising range of places to eat and drink. St Mary's church is also worth a visit while visiting the area.

A lovely area! Great for the whole family to wander around and see the sights. Beautiful old buildings. Some areas are a little hilly so wear comfortable shoes.

I have spent a lot of time in The Lace Market for two reasons – the first being that I used to work there, the second being that it is such an interesting and historical place within the City of Nottingham. The Lace Market is the oldest part of modern day Nottingham (along with Sneinton I believe) and was the... More

The Lace Market area of Nottingham use to be the centre of the worlds Lace Industry and is now a Protected Heritage Area. The area itself has other attractions within it such as the Galleries of Justice, St Mary's Church and there are also bars and restaurants. Just walking around the area take time to look at the architecture, also... More

Very pretty and interesting place; Nottingham lace is beautifully worked and not overpriced - that said it isn't 'cheap', but well worth the prices and experience.

This is a busy place but you can get a deal on real Nottingham Lace (one of the best) that would make a wonderful classic gift.

Reading the reviews below, there is much confusion between the Lace Centre Museum and the Lace Market. The Lace Centre museum is the one pictured at the top of the review. It was near Nottingham Castle - please note: it CLOSED in 2008. The Lace Market is a geographical area on the other side of the city centre. It gets... More
