We arrived in a motorhome , one spot is available for larger vehicles at the carpark entrance . The house and grounds are a little gem of a place to visit. Staff very welcoming . House tour recommended, the tour staff very knowledgable of this...More

Although I visit Henley a lot, I'd never been to this National Trust property near Henley till last weekend. My husband and I did a long walk in the countryside then stopped off here on the way home for a snack, plus a tour of...More

Although the house is Tudor, the interior is a comfortable residence, sensitively furnished for a well educated (many books) family of the 1950s to 70s. Its an enjoyable time capsule but not a place for any sort of 16th century experience. The walled gardens are...More

We didn’t actually get to see the house as we were short on time but every step of the gardens was stunning. So many amazing fotos and a lovely way to spend the afternoon with the family. Entrance is about £12.

I really recommend booking a guided tour. We had been to this small but lovely house before but the tour guide really made a difference in linking the families who had lived there to history and other social events. The walled gardens are extensive but...More

A fairly small but atmospheric house that it's easy to imagine living in. Series of beautiful gardens to explore which are tranquil and varied. The only negative note is that there was nothing left to eat in the café towards the end of the afternoon...More

This house has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I felt as though the family were still living there. Very interesting theatrical connections (Henry Irving) and all the original furniture and family belongings, photographs etc. Beautiful gardens and estate which you can explore at leisure.
