Atmospheric and spooky. As Oxford's oldest college, it has long been associated with the dark arts - other old boys include Daniel Dastarda (who spontaneously combusted sitting his finals) and Geoffrey de Blowstard (the last Englishman burnt at the stake, for mass poisoning of an entire church). Be sure to visit Shelley's memorial - he was drowned whilst surfing in... More

Walking past the beautiful entrance to the college we saw a tour was about to start. £2 for a fascinating 30min tour by a geology post grad student.

This college has a lovely chapel with some wonderful stained glass windows and some original woodwork several hundred years old.

You can actually stay in the student accommodation during summer vacation. I did - for a week and loved retreating from the bustle of The High to the serene setting of green quads and honey coloured stone when I had had enough of exploring the city. Breakfast is included in the price of your room and eaten in the grand... More

30 min guided tour taken by one of the students. Entry was just £2 for an adult which covered inside the chapel, dining room and other areas of the college. Well worth a visit.

Nice building. It´s interesting to imagine the life of the students in these places which, by the way, are open and working.

We wanted to have a look around this college because we are at Cambridge and University College is our sister college. Unless you were looking for it, you would probably miss the entrance as it is very unassuming, with no sign advertising that visitors are welcome. However, the door was open and we went in and asked the on-duty porter... More
