Well worth visiting and even has a coffee shop and wine bar to finish off a great day. If you are interested in more than today....take it in. Perfect place to visit when the weather gets a little blustery.

Unfortunately we visited the Ashmolean late in the day and it would be fair to say we didn't expect such a extensive and impressive museum/gallery. This is a top quality museum with an international level collection presented in a professional environment. It would be easy to draw parallels with the likes of the National Gallery and British Museum, the only... More

Having visited last week , I had an accident as I entered the Ashmolean The sun was shining and I was so busy looking at the large entrance fee sign , before I knew it the large heavy glass door had hit me down one side , luckily missing my face . At the time they had the revolving door... More

The exhibition charts art through two centuries in Paris. Not too crowded which was great and well put together. The Degas and Picasso pieces were about 10-15% of the exhibits but they stole the show especially the Picasso's. Worth a visit even without any 'famous' pictures included.

I was really impressed with this museum, which was recently refurbished. There were a lot of Egyptian items in great condition, rivaling what I've seen in the British museum. If you like coins or seals, this place is awesome because they've projected the faces or seals onto a larger imprint so you can properly see the details. The roof terrace... More

This museum has something for everyone, from ancient to modern art. Everything is displayed well, and there were helpful pieces of information in each room. We did an hour's introductory self tour to see 10 of the museum's highlights. There's a really nice cafe downstairs to rest and I'm sure I'll return some time as there was so much of... More

Nicely surprised with the set up of this exhibition, interesting to understand the developing artists in that time and culture. We had to wait 10 minutes before our time slot started which was a good thing so you could take the time and not feeling rushed. Always worth going to the Ashmolean. Had a lovely lunch in their rooftop restaurant... More
