The tour lasted 2.5 hours and it was an incredible experience. It gave me in-depth insight into the manufacturing process of mini coopers. Our guide for the day was Leo. He was informative, extremely friendly and was humorous. We covered the body workshop with the automated machines before attending the assembly workshop and analysing the finer details. Definitely a worthwhile... More

A mixed group of us went for the afternoon tour, Terry was our guide. Unfortunately the Plant shop was closed for renovation so we had to wait while the back door was unlocked. Once knitted out with safety glasses, ear piece, (which was a brilliant way to listen to what Terry was saying) and tabard, the tour started with the... More

Very interesting 2 hour factory tour showing two different areas of the factory, with a very knowledgeable guide who was able to answer nearly all of the group's varied questions. The experience was diminished for me though by the very poor exhibition of cars which had BMW Minis and previous brands lumped next to one another without any information displays... More

Hi GaryW14, Thanks for the review, and we're really glad to hear that you enjoyed seeing the inner workings of the factory. Both our shop and our exhibition are currently undergoing major renovations to improve and update what we have on show. Unfortunately in order to carry out these improvements we have to temporarily close them to the public. However,... More

I visited the Mini factory on 17th November, our guide for the tour was Louise. I found our guide was very informative on the mini manufacturing process and answered all the groups questions, I really enjoyed the tour, the only downside was that the museum had been cleared of classic cars ready for renovation. Some visitors had travelled considerable distances... More

For anyone interested in industrial mass production this is a must. Even for the non-technical one will be absolutely fascinated by the assembly lines producing a Mini a minute, 70% of which are exported all over the world. What is perhaps surprising to the visitor is that no one car’s specification on the assembly line on the day is the... More

On a 35th anniversary trip, my wife and I had several days in London (my favorite city in the world). Since we had owned a MINI for about a year, I thought it would be fun to buzz up to Oxford for a day and tour the MINI factory. I was so disappointed when we found that there were no... More

My wife had taken delivery of a new Mini about two weeks before our tour. We live in North Carolina. My wife was very keen to visit. The only available tour was in the afternoon of the same day we arrived in the UK. It was amazing. Seeing the robots do their thing and one car come off the line... More

Having owned BMW Mini's for the last 5 years (now on our 3rd) my Wife and I had wanted to go on the Mini tour to see where and how they are made. We missed out last year so made sure that we did it this year. From stepping through the door we were made to feel welcome. We had... More

The tour was absolutely fantastic but then again I would expect nothing less from BMW. Have done the tour in Munich and visiting The Welt I would have to say that my Plant Oxford tour ranks No.1. My gf and I arrived about 15-20 mins before our tour and checked out the cars on display. While small (I was told... More
